Chuck Thornton

Chief Operating Officer

Chuck Thornton is a Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience in public accounting with emphasis on financial institutions, audit and regulatory oversight. He has served in key leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer since 2015.

Thornton attended Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, prior to earning his Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. He earned his CPA license in 2007 and was designated a Chartered Global Management Accountant in 2012. He also completed studies at the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.

A recognized banking industry leader, Thornton was named Outstanding Leader Scholarship recipient from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in 2015.

Thornton has been a member of the American Institution of Certified Public Accountants since 2007 as well as the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. He served as Director of the Chattanooga Chapter Board and on the Financial Institutions Committee. He has been a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants since 2016 and has served as a member of the Leadership Council. Thornton previously served on the Ronald McDonald House Autumn Children’s Festival Committee and as Chairperson of fundraising. He is a graduate of the Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce’s 37th Class of Leadership Rome.
